[Pharmacological Action]

Pharmacology

Tilmicosin belongs to animal dedicated half synthesis macrolides antibiotics. And similar to Tylosin, it has strong antibacterial action against mycoplasma. And Gram-positive bacteria that are sensitive including Staphylococcus aureus, Pneumococcus, Streptococcus, Bacillus anthracis, Erysipelas suis, Listeria, Clostridium septicum, Clostridium pneumonia, etc. and Gram-negative bacteria that are sensitive including Haemophilus, Meningococcus, Pasteurella, etc. And Tilmisosin has stronger antibacterial activity than Tylosin against Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella and Mycoplasma. And 95% of Pasteurella haemolyticus strain is sensitive to it.

Pharmacokinetics

After orally taken, it will be absorbed quickly, and its main advantage is strong tissue penetration with large distribution volume (more than 2L/kg). And there is high concentration in the lung, and half life elimination period shall be 1~2 days, hence long time maintaining blood concentration.

[Pharmacological interaction]

(1) If Adrenaline is used together with this product, it might cause pig death.

(2) This product has same target as other macrolides and lincosamides, and not suitable to use together.

(3) If used together with β-lactams, antagonism occurs.

[Effect and function]

Macrolide antibiotics, and mainly used for treatment of Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella and Mycoplasma infection on pig.

[Usage and dosage]

Calculated based on this product.

Mixed in feedstuff: every 1000kg feed, 1000~2000g for pig, and continuous use for 15 days.

[Side effect]

(1) The toxic effect of this product on animals is mainly the cardiovascular system, and it might cause tachycardia and weakened contractility.

(2) Dose-dependent gastrointestinal disorders often occur after oral administration in animals, such as vomit, diarrhea, stomach ache, etc.

[Notice]

Tilmicosin is irritating to the eyes and can cause allergic reactions, and avoid direct contact.
